So, what are your takes on how this happened? Was it wholly the fault of the Death Note (and Ryuk?) or were the seeds of mental illness sewn in his brilliance? If someone were to stumble across the whole story (and here, for plotline resources, the reader would probably be easiest to handle- though working L in as the unearther would deserve applause and many reviews if you could manage it) would they pity him, or be repulsed? How deeply would it seep into his actions and speech?
