Multiple Submissions

It has come to my attention that the rule of submitting one chapter of a story at a time has obviously not been taken seriously. There are some authors *you know who you are* that have been continuously posting chapters. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it, but it seriously gets tiring deleting fifteen chapters of a story when you can't let them pass because of mistakes. So please be considerate and only submit one chapter at a time. That way, we can get your story up much faster.

If in case you don't know if you are a validated author or not, you can find out by following the "Your Stats" link in the top right corner (when you're logged in). On the page it shall tell you if you are validated or not.

All new members start out as unvalidated. To find out more, you can check the site FAQ.

In case anyone isn't sure what we mean by "one chapter at a time", it means that you should submit ONLY one chapter, wait for it to be validated and then submit the next chapter. Thank you. :)

I'd like to suggest that "submit one chapter and wait for validation" rule be propogated throughout the FAQs and rules. There really is no mention of it in either of those and it should be a hard and fast rule, not a suggestion.

I would also like to add that I was at Disneyland and I was working, thus why I neglected some of my work. Eek

What does it take to be a validated author? None of my stories have ever been vetoed, so I'd assume I'd be fine...?

Answer taken from the site FAQ:

We usually validate authors once we can tell their writing style and general quality of their stories. They've also shown they can follow the rules and that we can trust them.

You can become validated by writing stories with no major technical problems. That means good spelling, grammar, understandable dialogue formatting, etc. Once we've gotten to know your writing style, we'll validate you.

Um, for some reason, my story was validated, and then I went to look at it today, and it keeps saying that it hasn't been validated, even though its first chapter has had like, 30 something hits.

Maybe if this keeps up, we can make a gigantic banner/picture across the home of the site that says "NO MULTIPLE CHAPTER SUBMISSIONS!" on April Fool's day, only it won't really be a joke, if you catch my drift. ;D

Does the 'submit one chapter at a time' mean for each story you have up or in general? Like If I submit a chapter for one of my fics and it hasn't been validated yet, can I submit a chapter for my other fic?
