‘This is the story of the mighty Ichigo. But what is the story behind the hero? This is where our story…’
“Oh, would you listen to him! He’s making this story sound like some old, depressing tragedy!” Rangiku complained, snatching a theatre mask out of Tatsuki’s hand and holding it in front of her face.
“Lighten up!” Orihime said with a laugh as Tatsuki grabbed her mask back.
“We’ll take it from here,” Rukia told the narrator, smiling at him.
‘You go girls,’ the narrator said, disappearing for the rest of the story, leaving the actual story-telling up to the muses. Music began playing, the girls’ bodies moving to the beat.
“We are the muses. The goddesses of the arts, and proclaimers of heroes and heroines,” Rukia informed.
“Heroes like Ichigo,” Orihime giggled.
“No, you mean Hunk-chigo!” Kisa said in a dreamy voice, running down to look at the picture of the orange haired shinigami.
“Sweetie, I’d love to make some sweet music with…”
“Our story,” Tatsuki interrupted, glaring down at the other muse, “begins long before Ichigo, many years ago.” The girls all moved down, beginning to walk.
Orihime: Back when the world was new,
And planet earth was down on its luck
And everywhere gigantic brutes called Titans ran amok!
The girls walked past a vase. On it were pictures of Barragan, Nnoitra, Zommari, Szayel, and Yammy. A vase shattered, the pieces falling to the floor.
Rangiku: It was a nasty place!
There was a mess wherever you stepped.
Rukia: Where chaos reigned and earthquakes
and volcanoes never slept!
All: And then along came Isshin!
The muses gestured to a large vase, a picture of a male shinigami, dressed in the robes, but with a captain’s haori draped around his shoulder, and sandals on his feet. This was Isshin Kurosaki. He released his Zanpakuto, which was full of his spirit energy, and fought the five titans.
Tatsuki: He wielded his Zanpakuto!
All: He zapped!
Isshin defeated the titans, sealing them away in another dimension, his spirit energy creating the gate, from which they could not escape. As you can probably guess, they weren’t pleased with this…
Kisa: Locked those suckers in a vault!
All: They’re trapped!
And on his own stopped chaos in its tracks!
And that’s the gospel truth!
That guy was just too type A to just relax!
Orihime: and that’s the world’s first dish.
Isshin tamed the globe while still in his youth.
All: Though it may seem impossible-
That’s the gospel truth!
On Mt. Seireitei life was neat and
Smooth as sweet vermouth.
The girls are now shown in front of a vase with a picture of Mt. Seireitei on the front.
All: Though, honey, it may seem impossible-
That’s the gospel truth!
Now, the real Mt. Seireitei appeared…and our story finally begins.
