“You’re scared? Aren’t you?” you asked calmly. It was just another meeting between the two of you, although you had never looked the man in the face before. You would always meet here to share with each other your lives in which you both had no bias connections to.
You heard him mutter a yes from around the corner as you pressed your back harder against the cool limestone wall behind you. There was an unusual silence between the two of you before he started talking.
“But my brother, you see… once he realizes that there is a world outside of our own- where will that put me in his life?” you heard him ask as you sighed. This person you had slowly grown attached to emotional was struggling. You could tell by just his voice.
He himself had discovered the world outside of the one he had created for himself but decided to stay by his brother’s side. However he was uncertain about his brother’s choice.
He was conflicting about whether or not to let his brother be happy with whatever was drawing their world to an end. He was angered by the fact that he couldn’t endure this on his own. “Oh Hikaru-,” you heard him murmured.
You felt yourself slowly slide down the wall until you were sitting as you looked up at the flat white ceiling. “It’ll be ok,” you whispered soothingly. “I don’t think your brother will kick you out of his life. I think he’s just going to make room for more people and start placing other relationships around him, so his thoughts will be completely centered on you. At first you wanted to be known, yet unknown right? To be told apart? Well sometimes it’s more then you wish for.”
Then there was more silence.
Everything was calm as a cool tingle raced down your arm. The little light from the moon shone in threw a large window about your head. You could hear the sound of light breathing and dripping water.
Echoing threw the hallways and passages. You breathed in the fresh air and let yourself bathe in the shadows; waiting. “Should I- should I move on too?” he asked you. You didn’t answer, as you thought the question through. To you, this person was like a helpless child, trying to find his way threw life on his own. Not a 15 year old like he often told you.
“Oi, do you think I would be allowed to ever see your face?” he asked suddenly.
It had not been the first time he had asked you either. You had always wondered why he wanted to suddenly turn your relationship into something completely different. Maybe it scared you… Or maybe you felt that if he knew who you were he could judge you; make fun of you for all the personal things you had told him.
You sighed.
He was just around the corner, this mysterious figure. You could have snuck a peek of him but you couldn’t. It was tempting but you felt like you would feel like you were loosing a friend. But you knew the time would eventually come…
You slowly stood up, wiping the dirt from the floor of your dark jeans before turning around the corner and facing the male you had been talking to all this time. Sticking out your hand you smiled, his hazel eyes staring at you in confusing. “Hi,” you said. “I’m Kimeko, what’s your name?” He slowly took your hand in his own. Timidly he responded.
“Kaoru, my name is Kaoru.” You smiled at him as his eyes softened. “It’s nice to finally meet you; Kimeko-chan.”
