"Thus that which is the most awful of evils, death, is nothing to us, since when we exist there is no death, and when there is death we do not exist."

Death is the permanent end of the life of a biological organism. Death may refer to the end of life as either an event or condition. Many factors can cause or contribute to an organism's death, including predation, disease, habitat destruction, senescence, malnutrition and accidents.

Much to my surprise, death can not only occur in those misfortunate actions. But clearly much more as I sit, and wait. Patiently smiling into space, I brushed past the names of the unspoken already written previously before.

No one understands the power I contain, the power I will unlash in the near future. But for now, I remain unnoticed by everyone and everything around me. Not one ounce of guilt flashes through my body. I have to rid them out of their misshapes, I was going to rid of them.

The hollowness, the emptiness, the heartless orbs of hazel glinted in the light. I didn't move, I didn't speak as I remain motionless into the moonlight hitting directly towards the blinds of the infested pitch-black room.

Page over page, I went over every name, every word, every death as it was a story that I never wanted to end. A ghost of a smile appears at the end of my lips. And I knew finally, I had complete control.

Leaning forward into the darkness, I was isolated from my friends, my family, the world as I trace every single rule, every single sentence that can help me became greater.

"Sara." The voice of my mother rages into the room as I avert my eyes straightforward to hear her call in anger. "It's time to leave. Get to school now."

Discontinuing myself from going on with the pages, my hollow dark-colored eyes remain dead as I turned my head slightly to the side where I had a clear view of the banging door. Taking a deep audible breath, I closed the black seal book as I pulled the book upwards so I was able to move the chair I was currently sitting up a little ways back so I will be able to move freely.

Eyes focusing in the radiating light surrounding the room, my body glides over to the near desk besides the entrance door before reaching over to grasp a hold of my bag. Tugging the school bag over my head, it firmly stays in place on my shoulder before I swiftly open the door towards my bedroom to slowly walk out without a sound.

Emptiness, silence, oblivious behavior shown from my unloving mother didn't seem to bother or distract me at all as I past her figure sending me glares out the unspoken house. To prevent entrance, I pulled the knob of the door behind me as I made my way down the path to my new school that I was assign to day ago, with my mother's disapproval.

The carnage, the slaughter of my mother will be something amusing to me, if I truly desired for the like being. But at the moment, I prefer for her to remain alive, for now anyway.

The tan-colored shirt of my uniform blew in the wind, as the light breeze pulled several strays of hair back down the side of my face recklessly.

Eyes locking forward, a light smirk shadow over my features as I recognize a miss-troubled goon just several feet away pacing back and forth nervously, almost waiting for someone to arrived. The Shinigami Eyes I contain from the Death God, glinted with mischief as I avert my orbs into his when he suddenly glance over to see who was walking.

Not one emotion of sadness ran through me as I saw his death to become of tomorrow. Of course, I knew he knew nothing of what will be coming as I pull the black notebook out of my side, to slip it open to a new page where my pen guided the name of the man underneath the murderer who took the life of my oldest brother, Shino, two weeks prior to this day.

Death is such a common thing, it didn't matter if he were to die moments from now in a heart attack for his life was going to end shortly afterwards.

Not stopping, I passed right by the misfortunate soul as I finally approach my destination to enter a new school that goes by the name of Daikoku Private Academy.

Scanning the building from bottom to top, my mind became blank as I titled my head to the side to see a newspaper article blow across the dirt ground. Reading the paragraph of a mass rapist hitting the Japan area, I narrow my eyes at the target, a much older man, Gonzou Shirakawa.

The picture of the man flash through my head, which of course didn't hesitate me from pulling up my book once again to smile mysteriously.

The human whose name is written in this note shall die.

Gonzou Shirakawa

This note will not take effect unless the writer has the person's face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected.

The picture of the older man picture through my head, not one moment did I not think of the face of the picture shown in the article.

If the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the person's name, it will happen.

For once, a person of his wrongdoing will merely disappear from the society. He will die a death that he deserves. The death that all men like him deserve.

If the cause of death is not specified, the subject will simply die of a heart attack.

In forty seconds his meaningless life will end. It will be erase from this world in mere moments. The excitement of the thrill shiver down my spine as I rested my eyes for a moment before opening them to cast them upon a lonely figure just a little ways ahead.

Our eyes lock for a brief moment, I wanted to know, I wanted to know everything about him when my eyes slowly averted themselves downward to see him carrying the very same black book. My eyes didn't widen, I became relaxed, I became emotionless, I became amused by the fact that there was others very much like me, very much like the monster hidden inside.

His dark-colored eyes remain on me as a playful smirk follow it's way through my face before I swiftly turned around to dart my body towards the opposite direction I was going, where he was going.

Footsteps hitting the pavement, my hair recklessly continued to blow in the air, the wind picking up speed ever minute or so. My arms sway back and forth as I turn a sharp corner to see the young man closely following behind quite determine in catching me.

Targeting a secluded area just a few feet away, an arm was suddenly gripped tightly around my wrist before being pulled around to face the young man who pressed my back against the brick wall. Stepping closer, he aggressively hovers over me with narrow eyes and a breathless altitude. "How is it possible that you contain a book as that?"

"It's quite simple, isn't it?" My smirk played along once again. "We both retrieved it from the same thing that wanted us together."

"What do you mean?"

Having his hand holding himself up on the wall besides my head, his face was merely inches away from touching me, which allow me to feel his breath hit the tips of my lips.

"Ryuk. He of course set this entire thing up. Wanting some type of entertainment for his desirable pleasure. Dropping his book along with another in this world was the only thing that could ease his bored ness in the other world." I stated quite firmly to him before titling my head to the side to ask with interest. "Tell me, how many names have you already written? By the way your reacting, you puzzle to see another having the same complete control you have."

"Enough." Were his only words after some type of emotion filled his face. "What's your name?"

"It would only be fair if you stated your name first since you clearly ambush me for no apparent reason. But do know, I forgive people easily, well in this case." I paused as our eyes continue to dance with one another. "By the way we are standing, do you not believe that people will get the wrong idea of us?"

Scoffing, he leans even closer so his very own nose was brushing against mine in a startling way. "I could care less what others may think of this situation. This conversation is base only on you and me only."

Licking my lips, I pulled inwards my bottom lip so I continuously started to nibbled on it playfully while letting out a small sigh in the progress. "Let me help you."

"What?"

Titling my head, I repeated my commented yet again to him emotionless. "Let me help you."

"With what?"

"Don't be foolish. I can clearly tell by the look in your eyes that you're wanting to get rid of the worlds demons, those who done crimes that are unforgiving, remarkable, distasteful. Do you truly believe you're the only one?"

Shadowing bangs hanging over his eyes, I knew very well that I was right, which only lead me to speak with truth. "Sara Ling."

"Huh?"

"Did you not ask what my name was moments ago. It's Sara Ling, pleasure to meet you." I remark with a light laugh at the end of my sentence. "You and I are both Kira. It'd be about time we start acting like it."

Smiling, a strange smile, the young male who I have yet to know the name of brush his lips against mine, hardy ever touching them before finally whispering. "Light Yagami, that is my name."

"Good." I pushed him forward somewhat before grasping his hand upon mine, while he said with a bit of amusement. "I'm starting to believe this is just the beginning.."
