[[Prompt One: Old Habits Die Hard]]
Turning on the lights as you shut the door with your foot, slipping off your shoes and trekking across the cold wood of the hallway. It was all a familiar pattern that you performed each and every day. A routine perfected over time, becoming etched into your mind to the point where you didn't even think about it anymore. Perhaps that's why when you reached for the phone, dialed the number of the one person who seemingly dictated your life, you did not hesitate; did not think about the ultimate consequences of your actions, even though you had silently promised yourself to cut all ties with him.
The ringing of the phone resounded in your ears for a few brief moments while you held your breath. Should I hang up? The choice was made for you when the deep voice answered the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hello, Light."
Old habits tend to die hard.
